Martha was the last living captive Passenger Pigeon. She passed away at the Cincinnati Zoo in 1914.
The Heron
22"x 28", Linoleum Block2024‘The Heron’ is a piece representing growth even through a difficult period of life. 2024 has been a very tolling year for me, and I have found a lot of comfort watching the Blue Herons in a park near my apartment. This piece symbolizes the struggles that I have overcame in 2024.
Birds of a Feather
22"x 28", Linoleum Block2023The central Bald Eagle of this piece represents the United States. The flowers, Pansy in the bottom left and Lilac in the top left, represent the queer community. The anger of the Bald Eagle symbolizes an angry United States towards the LGBTQ+ community. The title of this piece, ‘Birds of a Feather’ is representative of the fact that no matter what, queer people will be present in the United States and they will always stick together no matter what terrible, horribly violent hate is being thrown at them.
